BASURA This site is a popular spot for muck diving. The area has very little coral, mostly rubble. But it's the very nature of the site that allows divers to easily see critters such as seahorses, ghostpipefish, small frogfish, anemone crabs, harlequin shrimps, boxer shrimps that occupy areas where ropes, sunken buoys and other items disposed in the area.
ACCESS: 15-20 minutes by boat from Portulano Dive Resort.
CONDITIONS: Generally calm
AVERAGE DEPTH: 30ft (9m)
Best to dive at night or sundown when critters are most visibile.
Very good chance at seeing seahorses and critters you've
not seen before. Prepare for a long, interesting dive where you
just keep finding more stuff.
