International coastal clean up or world clean up day is supported by Portulano Resort

The latest clean up happened September 25, 2010. We had great volunteers who really came to help out, 25 people from the GE Volunteer Group led by Christine Briones cleaned up the shoreline of Balite, San Luis near the parking area and barrio where they gathered at 6 big bags of trash.

2 diver groups including the P&G Eko Adventure Divers and other individual volunteers also did an effective clean up removing lines and fishing nets sweeping the reef clean from the corner near the Bat Cave and waterfalls until Villa Castillo the private resort before Ligpo Island.
